Aon Scéal? Café opened in November 2019 on the ground floor of Lárionad Gaeilge Thamhlachta, Tallaght's Irish-language and cultural centre, run by the community association Gaelphobal Thamhlachta. Its own name is a greeting: Aon Scéal? is Irish for "Any news?"
It describes itself as a café dátheangach, a bilingual café. Whether you bring a cúpla focal or none at all, the welcome is the same: tea from a floral pot, toasted sandwiches, scones and cakes, and a chat in Irish or English.
